LEGAL ASSISTANT


Description
Energen Corporation has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant in our Birmingham office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Answers departmental telephones
  • Type correspondence, letters, memos, contracts and other lengthy legal documents, etc. using Microsoft office suite of products.
  • Prepares numerous reports (i.e. accident, mileage, expense, payroll, vacation, litigation, etc.) using Microsoft office suite of products.
  • Completes and electronically files inside stock ownership reports.
  • Maintains files in accordance with retention policies.
  • Prepares forms by gathering information from various sources, completing paperwork, obtaining approvals, and routing for final processing.
  • Makes arrangements (i.e. meeting, flight, hotel, car rental, seminar registration, etc).


Requirements
The qualified applicant will have 3 or more years of administrative experience in a legal environment.  In addition, the qualified applicant must type 45 WPM and successfully pass a Word computerized skills test.   The qualified applicant must have good judgment as it relates to confidential information and exhibit good multitasking skills and attention to detail.
