Permian Basin

Energen Resources' 2002 acquisition of proved reserves totaling 38 million barrels of oil from First Permian, LLC gave the company a significant operating presence in the Permian Basin.

At year-end 2009, the company's Permain Basin holdings included proved oil, gas and natural gas liquids reserves of 92.3 MMBOE located on some 97,000 net acres. Representing 36 percent of Energen Resources' proved reserves, the Permian Basin contains 98 percent of the company's oil reserves.

Energen Resources today is the 11th largest oil producer in the basin. Its 2009 production totaled 5.6 MMBOE, and the company estimates that 2010 production will increase to 6.7 MMBOE.
